New Season, new Venue!!
Welcome to another season for the TGA - hopefully our most exciting yet, culminating in our 60th exhibition in the Town Hall next June! We had a very sociable enrolment evening on Monday 1st September, welcoming 12 new members, most of whom took advantage of the special rates offered through joining at the exhibition this year.
We have important news and it's the end of a long era. Most members have recognised that Kingdon House was getting increasingly cramped as attendees at the monthly sessions increased, making it particularly tight for practical work. Many commented on this as part of their response to the members' survey in June. So the comittee took decisive action over the summer, checking out the few suitable venues in Tavistock.
The great news is that we have found the ideal venue. So, starting on 8th September, our monthly sessions will be held at the Parish Rooms on Plymouth Road - to the immediate right of the Bedford Hotel. It's a larger venue, recently refurbished and with a modern kitchen. It should make every event a much more sociable event, with people having more room to walk around and chat.
Yes, it is a more expensive venue but we are confident we can cover this. But to help us, we are actively encouraging members to invite guests along to sessions of interest to them, at £5 per head per evening.
The sessions start next Monday, 8th September at 7:30pm, with a demonstration and practical session from our exhibition secretary Ian Pethers. For more information, take a look at our programme page here.
